Professional Sportsturf Design (NW) Ltd and PSD Agronomy Ltd have retained their ISO 9001:2000 registration for 2008/9 after the annual external audit. "It's good to see that the systems we have put in place to maintain quality have been found to be doing their job by external assessors" said Gary Owen an internal company quality auditor. "We make considerable effort to maintain the highest possible standards in all PSD companies". Professional Sportsturf Design (NW) Ltd, remains the only ISO 9001:2000 registered sportsturf consultancies in the UK. |

Eddie Davies Football Academy - Bolton Wanderers FC |

John hacker was pleased to attend the official opening of the Eddie Davies Football Academy at Lostock, Bolton. PSD acted as technical advisor to the project which was managed by KSS Design Group. This project has been underway for some 2 years or more on a site from which the Reebok Stadium can be seen. The facilities include one of the largest 3G synthetic pitches in Europe as well as a match quality sand based pitch and three other high quality pitches. Phil Gartside, Bolton Wanderers Chairman, said "We now have a facility to attract the best local talent who can live their football dream here with us". |

Local Authority Playing Field Assessment |

Continuing PSD's long involvement with Local Authorities in the U.K. the company has recently finished an inspection and appraisal of all Warrington Borough Councils playing fields. The resultant report not only gave details of the findings but also recommendations for improvements and budget costs. |

Ffos Las Racecourse |

The new racecourse at Ffos Las, South West Wales is the first new grass track racecourse built for almost a century. With wonderful panaramic views of the coast, Ffos Las will be a must for race goers who want to fully enjoy their day at the races. PSD acted as technical advisors to the Walters Group for the racecourse drainage and irrigation on what is a very difficult site. Previously, the area had been an opencast coal mine in an area of high rainfall. The first race is scheduled for summer 2009. |

Rugby Football Union |

PSD have acted as technical advisor to the RFU for grant aid work undertaken at rugby clubs in England during 2007, 2008,and 2009. This involved the initial site appraisal, development of tender documents and inspection of the works. "The pitch is a dream" one club was heard to say while another said that following the works the pitch was the best condition it had ever been in. We aim to please! |

Aston Villa Football Club Training Ground |

The new Aston Villa training ground at Bodymoor Heath is now open for use. Designed by Professional Sportsturf Design (NW) Ltd and built by J. Mallison (Ormskirk) Ltd and Charles Lawrence it includes a state of the art 3G synthetic pitch, Desso Grassmaster pitch with Inditherm undersoil heating system, two fibresand pitches, goalkeepers areas, running track and training hill. John Hacker who acted as Contract Administrator said "This state of the art facility puts Aston Villas training grounds at the forefront of European Clubs". |

School for the Future |

One of the areas in which PSD has been involved as technical advisor has been the Schools for the Future programme. Part of most schools development programmes have involved playing field development or improvement. PSD have been involved with a number of sites in the North West, the South and the Midlands. |
