Specialist Services for Winter Sports Pitches
Given
the development of professional football and rugby over recent years,
it is no surprise that winter sports pitch construction / refurbishment
has become one of the company's core areas of work.
The provision of winter sports pitches varies widely across the country
- so in order to ensure the most effective construction / drainage system,
it is important to understand the type of construction required for each
level of play.
Professional Sportsturf Design (NW) Ltd. have been involved in assessing
numerous sites over the last 20 years for drainage or reconstruction.
These include local authority recreation grounds, school playing fields,
stadium pitches and professional training grounds and academies.
To
date, the company has been involved in over 30 new or reconstructed stadium
pitches, 11 training grounds or academies for professional football clubs
and numerous upgrades for local authority recreation grounds. Clients
range from those at the very top of the premier league to local village
football and rugby clubs. Many of these pitches are jointly used for football,
rugby and (at local level) cricket.

- Assessment and approval of materials for use
- Site inspection during the works

involved in providing an ongoing maintenance programme, monitoring its
implementation and assessing its success.

standards - not only in the UK, but also abroad in warm season countries
including Portugal and Saudi Arabia and cold season countries such as
Latvia and Russia.

basic drainage schemes, pitch stabilisation with Fibresand or Desso Grassmaster
and electric, warm water-based / air-based undersoil heating and air evacuation
systems.
